Let's continue our road trip!
Please check back every day for a new post filled with songs, videos, pictures, and activities for you to explore with your child.
Here is our Zoom meeting link:
Meeting ID: 727 0392 2858
Meetings are daily from 11 am to approximately 11:40 am.
Today is Tuesday, July 14, 2020.
The resources for today are posted below.
Travel to Hawaii to explore a volcano up close!
Questions to ask:
What do you know about volcanos? How do scientists stay safe near volcanos? Is a volcano hot or cold? What would happen to trees and plants growing near a volcano if it erupted? How are a mountain and a volcano different?
Draw or paint a picture of a volcano.
Crouch down low then leap up high into the air to mimic an eruption. You can also have your child crouch down low and then cover them with small cushions so when they jump up the pillows "explode" out around them.

I'm a Big Volcano: song and movements
Watch Ms. Julia erupt up into the air just like a volcano! Follow along! Can you jump higher?
Today we explored Yellowstone National Park and learned that it is famous for its geysers!
Watch this video to see a geyser explode and to see many of the animals that live in Yellowstone national park.
Questions to ask your child:
What happened in this video? What did you see?
How is a geyser different from a volcano?
What animals did you see in this video?
Mimic a geyser by filling a plastic water bottle with water then squeezing it hard to make the water explode out of the top. Compare it to your volcano experiment.
Explore more of Yellowstone National park by visiting the National Park Service website and watching the tour videos.
The craft for today is an Erupting Volcano!
Watch the video below to see Ms. Claire demonstrate today's craft.
